Marko Elez is a 25 year old who has the trust and support of the world’s richest man, Elon Musk to help root out problems as part of the Department of Government Efficiency, aka “DOGE.”
He and others of the DOGE team were doxxed several days ago in an article in Wired, along with other articles and posts on X.
Elez was assisting Musk in his Trump-led efforts to root out fraud, waste and abuse from America’s government, starting with the United States Agency for International Development “USAID”, The State Department, Treasury Department, and other agencies.
And then the mainstream media today, led by reporter Katherine Long at the Wall Street Journal, decided to try and ‘cancel’ Elez by digging up controversial tweets made a few years ago in this article, titled “DOGE Staffer Resigns Over Racist Posts.”
In the article, Long identified these offensive past tweets on an account using a pseudonym which Elez deleted in December:
“Just for the record, I was racist before it was cool”
“You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity”
“Normalize Indian hate”
“99% of Indian H1Bs will be replaced by slightly smarter LLMs, they’re going back don’t worry guys”
“I would not mind at all if Gaza and Israel were both wiped off the face of the Earth”
What Long did not disclose in her article is that she worked previously for the State Department and USAID-linked groups in their Communications departments. From Katherine Long’s LinkedIn:
Elez resigned when the WSJ reporter, Katherine Long, reached out to the White House. Elon Musk hosted a poll on X to measure the support for giving Elez a second chance, where 80% of those responding supported re-hiring him. Vice President J.D. Vance, who could have been offended by some of the tweets because Vance’s wife is of Indian ethnicity, came out in favor of re-hiring Elez stating that his tweets might be offensive but that wasn’t reason to ‘cancel’ him. President Trump has already said he wants to re-hire Elez.
A deep-state FISA judge has already attempted to block Musk and his team from accessing government servers.
The deep state is in full-scale panic, especially as Trump indicates he next wants Musk to audit the Pentagon.
It appears that Marko Elez is about to get his job back from Elon Musk.
The attempt to ‘cancel’ Marko Elez might also signal a major cultural shift where the typical left-wing media playbook is upended and rendered impotent.
However, in bringing the spotlight on Elez, Reporter Long has also brought it on herself, and it reveals that in her resume she lists prominent stints at both the State Department and with a USAID-funded effort in their Communications efforts.
Some who broke the story overstated Long’s role at USAID and implied that she was currently working there.
Katherine Long, the journalist of the hit piece that got a DOGE employee to resign for spicy posts, is a USAID employee. How is this not a conflict of interest? pic.twitter.com/xFH7dPjFrX

So this Katherine Long (She/Her) reporter, who just doxxed and forcibly resigned a member of DOGE, is a literal fed. Nice, cool.

Reporter Long has already locked down her X account.
These connections were not disclosed in her original article and represent obvious conflicts of interest for the reporter in covering those topics, and the Musk-led effort to defund and scrutinize their spending.
Katherine Long’s archives at the Wall Street Journal only include two articles from today, both about Marko Elez.
Elon Musk was publicly asking if her reporting, and failure to disclose her obvious conflicts of interest, were criminal.
What the hell?
Certainly improper, possibly criminal. https://t.co/8GDeinXG3C

The “ethics and standards” policies for journalists as described by the Pulitzer Center, include this relevant statement, “Let the audience know any information about yourself or your sources that might affect its understanding of your work.”
