A pro-abortion political action committee (PAC) is rallying its troops against the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.
Robert Kennedy Jr. is pro-abortion. Obviously, this is all about dark leftist politics.
The Committee to Protect Health Care, whose primary objective is to protect access to abortion across the United States, has set up a petition urging Senators to vote against RFK Jr.’s during his confirmation process later this month.
The petition reads:
As physicians who care deeply about the health and safety of our patients and communities, we are appalled by Donald Trump’s reckless decision to appoint Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The health and well-being of 336 million Americans depend on leadership at HHS that prioritizes science, evidence-based medicine, and strengthening the integrity of our public health system.
RFK Jr. is not only unqualified to lead this essential agency–he is actively dangerous.
We urge the Senate to protect and defend our patients’ access to quality health care by rejecting his appointment.
The petition currently claims to have over 18,000 supporters, all of whom are required to be licensed physicians.
However, it is unclear how the organizers are verifying whether somebody is actually a licensed medical professional or merely an activist seeking to thwart RFK Jr.’s chances of leading the department.
According to Statista, there are approximately 1.1 million active physicians across the United States, meaning the number of signatories represents just a tiny fraction.
Despite the backlash, there are growing indications that RFK Jr. may receive confirmation from the Senate.
A report earlier this week revealed that some Senate Democrats are open to confirming RFK Jr. because of his views against greedy corporations and the prevalence of chronic disease.
RFK Jr.’s has long warned about the rogue behavior of pharmaceutical companies and the damaging incentives across the food and healthcare industries.
Among the Democrats said to be open to his nomination include Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and John Fetterman of Pennsylvania.
Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey is also understood to be interested in some of his ideas due to his interest in healthy living.
REPORT: Senate Democrats Open to Confirming RFK Jr. as Secretary of HHS
If all Democrats vote against RFK Jr., then he only afford to lose a maximum of three Republican votes in order to be confirmed.
However, receiving the support of just one Democrat would make his path to confirmation significantly easier.
